While the flu vaccination market isn’t home to many blockbuster drugs, the fact remains that it can be a very lucrative business if and when outbreaks occur. It doesn’t take a great memory to remember the H1N1 flu pandemic of 2009-2010 — which, according to the World Health Organization, reached humans in more than 200 countries and led to over 18,000 deaths. While it remains to be seen how this flu season shapes up, flu news and trends is an area to watch in coming months for companies with a vaccines presence.
